Youth Choir

of Conservatoire of Music of Albufeira

(Algarve – Portugal)

 

The Choir was founded in November of 1999 as the children’s choir (10 – 17 years old) of this official music school located in Albufeira (Portugal). The choir regularly participate in different concerts in many cities of Algarve like Faro, Tavira, Silves, Lagos, Vale de Lobo, Paderne, Albufeira and others. The first official participation of the group was in Festival of Children’s Music Groups in the capital of Algarve - Faro, which

had been organised by Regional Department of Education in 2000. In April of 2002 the choir was participated in the 1º Youth International Festival in Provance (France), when did three concerts with big success. In 2003 the group made the stage performance of the Russian music hall “Bremen’s Musicians” in Concert Hall of Albufeira. Collaborated with Orquestra of Algarve and Orquestra of the Professional Music School of Espinho. In Juny of 2004 the choir did the first concert on the North of Portugal (Mortagua) and the first tour in Germany in July. Group’s repertoire included pieces of different style, European and American composers, traditional songs at 2, 3 and 4 mix voices with piano and a capella. The choir was founded and direct by prof. Ian Mikirtoumov.
